Standing with a True Champion for Workers: Victor Torres

Hello, my name is Tina Solórzano Fletcher, and I am extending my full support for the reelection of Victor Torres.

I have been a Union organizer for AFT Guild, Local 1931 for the past twenty years and currently the Southern Vice-President for the CFT Council of Classified Employees.

I have known Victor since elementary school. He has always been a caring and thoughtful person.

We reconnected at a phone banking event at the San Diego and Imperial County Labor Council over ten years ago. It was no surprise to me that he found a place in labor. He has always cared about the wellbeing of others.

This mild mannered, well-spoken man has had the strength to carry the weight of the San Diego Teamsters Local 481 since his first election in leadership. His commitment to the duties of Secretary Treasurer has been proven by his dedication of putting members first.

It was an honor to watch him receive the Labor Leader of the Year in 2021.

Victor brings with him decades of experience in the labor movement. As a fellow Unionist, I believe in Victor and the people he surrounds himself with will fight in the best interest of their members.
