“One of the Most Dedicated Officers I Have Met:” RN Endorses Victor Torres
It gives me great honor to endorse Victor Torres, as Secretary-Treasurer for Teamsters Local 481.
I have known Victor for at least 10 years since we were both Labor Council delegates but we didn’t really talk at length until we were attending a Labor Council event several years ago.
We began discussing our positions in our respective unions, for me that was UNAC/UHCP, a nurse with 40 years experience, the last 20 with Kaiser, in the interim serving as our San Diego Hospital Vice President and President and eventually as an Affiliate Associate. Respectfully, Victor explained to me about his position in his union.
From the first at length discussion with Victor, I saw and heard a person of dignity, humility, and compassion for those he served. It was obvious others must have had the same thoughts, as I observed his interactions with others.
As the years have gone by, I am now retired and involved with my Union’s retirement association. I have also continued to participate in various labor functions
I have had opportunities to continue conversations with Victor about our comparable union roles and how important they are to the people we serve. Victor is one of the most dedicated officers I have met in my 40 years of union membership. We are colleagues, but I consider Victor a friend as well. A real friend, not the kind that one has on Facebook.
It is with all my heart and complete confidence that I know Victor is meant to continue serving as Secretary-Treasurer for Teamsters Local 481.
It is my blessing to endorse Victor Torres.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Turner, RN
