Hello Brothers and Sisters of Teamsters Local 481!

My name is Gail R. Panzarini. I am running for re-election as Local 481’s Recording-Secretary in the upcoming election in November. Securing your vote for my re-election is highly valued.

I have served Teamsters Local 481 as Recording-Secretary for over 16 years. Recording-Secretary is a crucial member of a local union’s Executive Board, responsible for maintaining accurate, official records of union meetings, including diligent recording of the minutes.

In essence, the Teamsters Recording-Secretary is a vital link in the communication and administrative structure of the union, ensuring that members are informed and that the Union’s business is conducted efficiently and transparently.

In addition to being an Officer of Local 481, I am also honored to have served as a Delegate to the Teamsters Joint Council 42 and The San Diego/Imperial Counties Labor Council. I have also served as an Alternate Delegate for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).

I have been a Teamsters Union member for over 38 years. Within those 38 years, I have also been a part of SDEA (San Diego Education Association), NEA (National Education Association), CTA (California Teachers Association) Unions.

Being part of a Union is important as it gives workers the ability to negotiate collectively, leading to better pay, benefits, and working conditions. Unions advocate for safer workplaces and better health care. Unions ensure fair treatment and due process, as well as fostering a unified voice for workers in shaping their communities.

Through many years of experience and leadership, the current Local 481 Executive Board Team has accomplished all of the above through Collective Bargaining Agreements, rallies, and participating in community events.
