Deep Appreciation for Local 481

Hello…..

My name is Cindy Tomshany, and I’m writing to share my deep appreciation for Local 481 and the exceptional team assembled by Victor Torres. My career at the San Diego Zoo, spanning from the 1970s until my retirement in 2020, provided me with countless enriching experiences, but my involvement with Local 481 stands out as particularly rewarding.

My association with Victor goes back many years, long before his role as Secretary-Treasurer. His leadership and commitment have fostered a truly outstanding team. I feel privileged to have been a part of it for so long, serving as both a trustee on the Local 481 board and as chief shop steward for the San Diego Zoo.

These roles allowed me to witness firsthand the remarkable harmony and expertise within Local 481. The seamless collaboration, deep understanding of the representative unit’s needs, and strong community engagement truly impressed me. The organization operates with the efficiency and precision of a finely tuned machine—a testament to decades of dedicated work and strategic development. I’m immensely honored to have played a role, and wish the team many more years of success with Local 481!
